Lemon & Salt for Migraines

Okay, I am going to admit I haven't personally tried this myself.  But I have heard so many good things about it that I had to include it.  For some people it works like magic!

The next time you are having a migraine try drinking lemon with a dash of salt.  Here's what you do:  squeeze one lemon into a glass and add 1 tsp. himayalan salt.  Stir and swallow entire contents.  Some people find that one whole lemon is too much to start and will squeeze just half a lemon with 1/2 tsp. salt.  Still, others find they prefer to add the lemon juice to a small glass of water and then add the salt.  You may need to experiment to find the right combination for you.

Do NOT use plain table salt. You are looking for salt that has a high content of minerals such as pink himalayan sea salt. The reason is the himalayan salt is the most complete salt in the world and contains 84 minerals, electrolytes and elements. This lemon-salt combination will help balance serotonin levels in the bloodstream (which it is believed may be low during a migraine) while restoring the body's alkalinity and balancing electrolytes, which also seems to be helpful with migraines.

This remedy is so simple it seems worth a try.  Next time you feel a migraine coming on pucker up!
